Man United welcome Brighton to Old Trafford

By Olumide Lawal

Manchester United are hoping to return to winning ways in the Premier League with the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion to the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday as the last international break of the year beckons.

The spirits are high in the camp of the Red Devils after they oversaw a comfortable 3-0 victory over Partizan Belgrade on Thursday night as the team booked their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League with two games to spare.

A win on Sunday will be a big boost for Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has been a subject of heavy criticism from a large section of United supporters that feel the team's league position of 10th after just 11 league games isn't good enough for a club that pride itself as the biggest in the world. Anything less than 3 points this weekend will surely add more pressure on OGS but he'd be banking on the duo of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford to continue their goal scoring form.

Team News.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed to MUTV, club's official TV channel, that Scott McTominay is a major doubt for the Seagulls visit after he picked up a knock in the win over Partizan Belgrade but hopes Harry Maguire will be back to full fitness.

"I think Harry will be okay, he finished the game anyway." Ole explained during the post-match press conference.

"Scott is more of a concern, so let's see how he recovers in the next few days. He said he was going to be okay out on the pitch and he said 'I'll be fine'. He's tough, but he had to come off. But I hope he'll recover for Sunday, but I don't know." added the manager.

Manchester United captain, Ashley Young, is ruled out of Sunday's game with a suspension after an accumulation of yellow card.

OGS is still sweating on the fitness of several first team players & he'll surely be hoping some of his stars regain full fitness by the end of the forthcoming international break.
